Privacy notice

SurveySorted is a UK service that explains home survey reports. We are the controller for personal data you give us. This notice is written in ordinary language; it is not a substitute for the UK GDPR itself.

What we collect

An account identifier and email if you sign in; the report you upload (which often contains an address and may contain a name); consents you tick; and technical logs needed to keep the service secure.

Lawful basis

Contract, for providing the decode you asked for. Legitimate interests, for security and fraud prevention. Consent, separately and unticked, for sending redacted report text to an AI provider, for sharing excerpts with trades, for partner introductions, and for marketing. Each purpose has its own tick. A quote request is a separate consent for that finding and that type of firm. It is not consent to be sold as part of a list.

AI processing

If you consent, a redacted copy of the report is sent to our current AI provider (xAI) so we can write explanations. Names, phone numbers and emails are stripped first. The document is treated as untrusted data. We keep a log of model, prompt version, and redacted input for audit.

How long we keep it

Uploaded reports are kept for 90 days by default, unless you save them to a Home Health Passport later. You can delete everything now from your dashboard, and you can export a copy of your data.

Quotes and referral fees

If you tick Get quotes, we may pass your name, email, phone, postcode and the short note you approved to a firm of the type named on the form — for example roofers, damp specialists, structural engineers, electricians, drainage contractors, or timber and woodworm specialists. They may contact you. We do not attach your survey upload. We do not sell or share a general list of customers. You can withdraw before a share from My reports; we then keep a record that you withdrew, not a permission to pass the details on.

If you go on to use a firm we introduce, that firm may pay Report Rescue a referral fee. The fee is not added on top of their quote. We say this on the form, on the pricing page, and in “How we make money” on the home page. No live trade panel is connected in this version, so a recorded request is not the same as a firm having your details.

Conveyancer, mortgage and insurance introductions are switched off. If mortgage or insurance introductions are ever offered, they will only be to a firm authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, with a separate disclosure and a separate tick. We are not authorised to give mortgage or insurance advice.

Who we share with

Processors: hosting, database, authentication, and — with consent — the AI provider. We do not sell individual reports. Anonymised aggregate insights only if you opt in. Trades and regulated partners only with a separate, named consent (those modules are off).
